Russia has withdrawn most of its helicopters from a strategic airport in Kherson, in southern Ukraine, according to satellite images analyzed by The Times, in what experts said could be a telltale sign of Russian military setbacks in the south of the country.


The iconic photograph of Earth from distant space – the “pale blue dot” – was taken 30 years ago on Feb. 14, 1990.

Another kind of extrusive rock is pumice. Pumice cools off very quickly and also is associated with gaseous eruptions. Therefore, pumice is very lightweight, and has no crystals. Some pumice will float in water.
